I'll contribute to this thread too!

First 4 pictures are of my work/project/hobby/2nd game room (the room isn't *quite* as small as it looks... it is about 12'x12' without counting the doorway, plus I was able to convert the closet into a mini-home theater/gaming area with a 42" TV), and the last picture is from my laundry room where I keep my 22U server rack (which my wife is *mostly* on board with...).

My work room has 3 computers all based on X5470 CPUs (4-core), and my server rack has 4 servers based on 2x X5690 CPUs (12-core per CPU, DL370 G6), 2x X5470 CPUs (4-core per CPU, PE1950 G3), 2x E5410 CPUs (4-core per CPU, PE1950 G3) and 1x Atom D330 CPU (2-core, Supermicro).

FrostyTheSnowman, Heh, I'd bet those servers on that rack would be useful for setting up a database for storing hundreds of personal files :-P

Sure is! Between my work room and my server rack I have 55TB of storage space.

LOL clown porn. Well, as long as you don't have your server locked by the FBI, because they're pretty serious about what goes on in the cyberspace :-P

Time for an update of my area, as I've at last finished re-wiring stuff to get the most out of it all:
Image

Top row from left to right:
- Sun LSA800 18" 1280x1024 TFT
- Iiyama HM704UTC 17" Diamondtron CRT
- SGI 1600SW 18.1" 1600x1024 TFT with SGI Multilink adapter

Middle row (racks):
- Yamaha MU50EX GM/XG MIDI module
- Roland MT-32 (rev0) MIDI module
- Sun SPARCstation 20 (connected to LSA800)
- Edirol UM-550 MIDI patchbay
- Behringer Eurorack Pro 8 channel stereo mixer (connected to Microlab speakers)
- Aten CS-88A 8-port PS/2 KVM (connected to Iiyama HM704UTC)
- Microlab B73 stereo speakers

Front row (input devices):
- Sun Type 5 keyboard
- Sun Type 5 mouse
- Gravis GamePad Pro
- Gravis PC GamePad
- SGI Granite 'bigfoot' PS/2 keyboard (connected to KVM)
- IBM 13H6690 (late PS/2) mouse (connected to KVM)
- IBM Model M PS/2 keyboard
- Microsoft Trackball Explorer

Under the table:
- my son's K6-2 retro game box (connected to KVM, mixer and those Gravis GamePads)
- my 'service module' Phenom 2 X4 system connected to the SGI mulilink, IBM Model M, Trackball Explorer and second input on the Microlab speakers

The cables snaking behind the keyboards are a complete set of KVM, audio and MIDI for workbench use.

The rest of the room is a complete mess, but working on it ;)

Final goal is to have a set of drawers under the desk with six systems hooked up to the KVM. Possibly I'll reduce that to four to allow for a few separate cases. But for now, bedtime...

Edit: and in case you're wondering why I use the SGI keyboard with the Iiyama monitor (and IBM mouse) and the IBM keyboard with the SGI monitor. It's all about typing vs gaming. The Model M is still (one of) the best keyboard(s) ever for typing. However it has very limited 2KRO, which mean's it's useless for keyboard gaming. The Trackball Explorer and 1600SW are best in class peripherals to go with it. The SGI Granite Bigfoot doesn't come close to the Model M in terms of typing, but it's good enough, and though I doubt it has NKRO, it's certainly better in that sense than the Model M. And that IBM mouse? Er, I gave away my last decent PS/2 mouse and basically only do DOS gaming here, so this was good enough for now... crap though indeed.

Looks like Skeletor has turned to drink, poor guy. At least the size of his drink is fitting for him.

Also just looking at the main menu of OMF demands four times larger speakers!

Problem is, the poor gentleman can't hold his booze. It drains out of his lower regions as fast as he pours it in the top.

Don't underestimate these little beasts, they have crystal clear and surprisingly deep sound. The lightning flashes befor the main menu hit you deep in the guts. Given the size of the room and the fact we have neighbours, these speakers are more than good enough.

Here's mine. no idea why the site rotated them. Click on them and they show uo just fine.

Also take over the kitchen table if I'm doing some maintenance or testing.
