I bought this desk recently - late 90's / early naughties era I'm guessing. Not great quality but solid enough and in very nice condition. I replaced the sun yellowed brown trim and re-laminated the edge of the keyboard tray. I also added some reinforcement under the desktop to better handle a CRT and I'm happy with the result - it's almost taken on an Atari arcade cabinet look I think.

The trim really does it for me somehow. Looks great!

Looks beautiful. Every bit of it. The motherboard framed on the wall is a nice touch too.

There are 2 more machines below the desk, 1 for everyday use and the 98 "spoiled rich kid" machine 😁
The Compaq is a DOS build with
P1 133mhz
32mb ram
AWE64
S3 trio 64+ (and soon a voodoo 1)

Pentium I 133mhz
32MB RAM
AWE64
S3 64v+ / Voodoo 1
DOS 6.22

Here's my Retro corner of my office (my current PC setup and where I work is just to the right). Its a mix of old and new for the machines with old hardware and newer CF / SD / Floppy Emulators. The LCD is conserve space. I have a 19" Dell Standard 4:3 LCD I should probably put there, but it would be a pain to change out.

THe wiring for the KVM / RCA Switchers and other things on the desk all go into the black stand the monitor is on to keep it clean.

386DX-33 - DOS 5.1
486DX4-100 - DOS 6.22 / Win 3.11
Pentium 4 3.4 - Windows 98SE
i7-3770 - Windows XP

Granted, the i7 isnt retro, but the OS is....II scaled back my retro machines a while back and just wanted to have 1 of each OS I enjoyed. So I built a fast 98 and a fast XP machine just because.

Here's my current computer gaming setup, I moved a couple months ago and have changed my setup a bit.

There are three desktop computers I use regularly for playing games from different eras:

Win 10 Machine
Asus Z97M-Plus
i7-4790K
32GB DDR3
GTX970 4GB
960GB Corsair MP510 M.2 SSD

XP Machine
Asus P8P67 LE
i5-3570
4GB DDR3
GTX770 2GB
WD 1TB HD

98SE Machine
Asus CUBX-E
Pentium 3-S 1.4GHZ
512MB PC133
Geforce 5900XT 128MB (went back to this from a 6800XT that had issues with HOMM2)
128GB Kingston Compactflash

I have the Win 10 machine connected to the 2 screens with HDMI and a DVI/PS2/Audio KVM to switch between the two older computers on DVI input of the right screen.

haha thanks, it's actually a flag/banner of the cover from their Love Gun album. A friend gave it to me for my birthday a few years back.

Why thank you. Funny you mention '98. I'm currently in the process of getting my Windows 98rtm back up and running.

Hello! I have a few 'computing' areas...

On the right side of the 'retro room', with the 19" Diamondtron CRT, I have two of my original (mostly) childhood computers: A Pentium III with Voodoo3, and an Athlon 64 X2 with Radeon X850. Details are here.

On the left side, with a 20" 1600x1200 LCD, I have some Frankenstein builds, mostly from spare parts, that are intended to be FAST (period incorrect but fully compatible). This includes a Core 2 Quad dual booting WinXP & Linux off SSDs, and an Athlon 64 running WinMe. Details will be posted when I get time.

All of the retro computers are KVM'd, ready to use, and CAT6 networked to my home file server.

My daily driver was built last year (it seems like a long time ago, given the year we've had!). It's a Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX 2060super... and the epic Samsung CRG9 5120x1440 curved display. The video card really isn't up to the task of maxing out the latest games on this monitor, but I'll wait for video card prices to settle down before upgrading.

Finally my HTPC is composed mostly of parts from my previous daily driver... it's a Core i5 4670k with a GTX 1050Ti. It's connected to a 4K television and it's primarily used for watching Plex, casual couch co-op games, and RetroArch (CRT Royale all the way).

I have the feeling 20 years ago, it was easier to install these OS.
Hope you are succesful.

At least installing windows 2000 was no Problem.
To find correct driver seems a bit more difficult. 😀
