Some new shots of my area, cleaned it this weekend after reassembling basically all of the computers I own.

I hesitate to post this because it's always such a mess... But whatever, here's the retro side of my "office".

Yeah I was gonna say. 🤣 You should see my computer room, it's just equipment piled everywhere. Hell even in my room there is usually two or three computers half being worked on. 🤣

Check me out at Transcendental Airwaves on Youtube! Fast-food sucks!

That's a cool IMSAI. Do you run anything on it aside from CP/M?

All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

No mouse required for the 70's technology on that bench, but the two 90s era machines on the right have mice. 😁

Thanks. It has a monitor that I wrote stored in ROM, but it doesn't get used much now that CP/M is up and running. This thing will be on the internet as well, once I finish writing software for the ethernet board...

Niiice. Also, definitely not a mess. For a mess you want my study, currently being moved to another room. Pictures when it's finished in a few months..

'a bit' - you mean 'a lot' and you got the vacuum out too.. 😉

I must sort mine out, it's going to have wall to ceiling computers but be so organised. Hoping I can fit my Amstrad PCW in there as well as all the old PC stuff, and Unix boxes..

My gf did the vacuum cleaning 😉
My collection isn't big enough yet that I need the other wall for stacking towers (not yet but soon)

cleaned up abit beforehand 😁

I don't see any Abit's, only an empty case without a motherboard 😕

😜

And if you stack completed rigs on top of each other, label them on the front (an optical drive with a small piece of paper tape might be a good idea) so you can see it on the front quickly. Don't make the mistake that you have to actually take out a rig, open it up and then figure out what the hell that rig was for 🤣!
And on top of each rig you could use paper tape and tape a sheet of paper with more detailed bits of information (like the parts used, OS and function of that particular rig).

You gotta know your stuff 😎

🤣

Attached are some pics of my "nerd station" as my brother calls it. I do CAD work during the day so didn't want to come home and sit on my rump some more (not healthy!) while gaming and such so came up with this. It's made from 3/4" plywood pieced together with glue/screws. Shopped around for a standing station that had the dimensions I needed but the prices were crazy so decided on a DIY model. Would like to come up with something to tame the "rat nest" of wires behind it -any ideas out there let me know. The systems are listed in my signature, just two at the moment but debating on squeezing a modern rig in there at some point.

Nice steering wheel collection! I only have one for my Dreamcast, and really need to attach it to a table so it's easier to play..

yes there are three, a nice thrustmaster, an old logitech force gp and a logitech momo that will replace the gp.
I use them to race against my son (modern games). i found the momo really cheap on a fleamarket and it works just as nice as the thrustmaster which i bought new.

Figured i'd post an update. The triple head setup was insanely impractical for the amount of space I have. Here's some pics of my computing/media area. Also a pic of my rack which is in storage.

My main collection is in the living rooms. Neatly stowed away, but at the same time eye-candy and easy to fetch when the retro feeling is overtaking you.
