I really wanted to play some older games like NFS-HS and HP and RignRoll 2 unfortunately WIN7 and ATI drivers for HD4XXX series cards dont allow this.

Searching for better S3 display drivers i found this valuable place!

I made my first rig of the year 2000..

Here the spec of my vintage desktop..
-Duron 750@900mhz (pencilmod)
-448mb PC-133 sdram
-DFI-AK75-EC
-Diamond Stealth III S520 8mb AGP2X 100mhz GPU/125mhz SDR 64-bit
-Samsung SP0411N 40gb
-Win98SE

Well this brings back memories...full of dispair and suffering.

The reason for this is the Diamond Stealth with an S3 Savage Pro GPU.
This one little was really nasty...
...it was a factory downclocked S540 with less ram onboard.
then the agp4x support is there but only virtually, jumpers pins for agp 4x are not present, they are removed fom the PCB.

and now the funny part.
the video adapter has 6ns (166mhz) hyundai rams.i was able to push the GPU core to 143mhz (the maximum in powerstrip) and the Rams 154mhz (why not the indicated 166???).
The 3dmark99pro shows with or without overclocking of the Savage4Pro the same score???:/.

I tried different drivers.

The newest S3 was better for 3dmark and lagging in NFS-HS. A little older Diamond scored a little less in 3dmark, fluently in NFS-HS but lagging in NFS-PU:D. Playing games now as then was a hard time...
