Quick ebay search and people want $800-$2000 (found one at $6600 even)...

What? I bought a Siemens Nixdorf Scenic C5 (P233MMX-based) in Germany for €35 not so long ago. They are cheap and plentiful in Germany.

I bought a P233MMX desktop for $100 shipped from WA (could not be further from NY) a few months ago. And an IBM 486DX2-66 for $70 shipped from NJ (could not be closer to NY). eBay still has many excellent deals.

There are so many (also on other sites) that I really have to force myself to not click BIN all the time. My house would fill up really fast and my wife would serve divorce papers.

Not really confortable with it, but it is alot of crap in a small space... I'm currently looking for a bigger space to move this stuff and get it on real clean... My wife hates this garage like this...

I can imagine 😁

The current state is the result of putting everything where's a a small bit of horizontal space left - I know, I've been there. Maybe start small, put the mainboards in boxes and stack them in the shelves, put your cards all in a big box (with proper protection, of course), make a tower of ATX cases in one corner, and perhaps most importantly: throw some stuff out! It's quite satisfying and the wife will certainly appreciate it 😁

It's quite a nice collection, and I think with a bit of organization certainly manageable in that space.

LoL... There are allready boxes in the shelves full of cards, there are boxes full of cables, under the tables there are towers, some with PCs inside... I've removed 1kg of capacitors of a bunch of old damaged mobos and toss them in the bin, even incomplete and damaged chassis i've tossed... And it doesn't get any better... There is alot of crap in there... But ive thrown stuff away and regreted in the past... A bunch of complete and working 386 and 486 pc and now theyre worth something and i want them...

Interesting. Looks like a lot of electronic scrap to me. Then again: I suffer from OCD so I always have a highly clean and organized environment. 🤣 Plus to me anything > Pentium 233 MMX is really just junk.

I'm an eletronic tecnician student, so its a lot of eletronic crap indeed. But I work mainly as a computer repair guy, and I'm looking to start my own shop. mixing work and play results in my current space chaos... after getting rid of pleople laptop and computers to a work specific place, I can refurbish this place to a old computer place...

Any old computer that can do something a new computer cant do because its too new, I call it retro... 😀

Oh for gods sake... don't tell people to recycle these machines! There are already enough scrappers ruining perfectly good equipment as it is.

I see you're having S423 boards but no RDRAM 😀
For me it's the opposite: I have RDRAM sticks (Samsung) but no board w/ CPU to put them into 🤣

I have a friend with a box full of RDRAM. He was telling me that at one point he had 1gb and 512's but after 10 years they are all gone and 256/128's are all that remain. A maxed out 4gb RDRAM p4 would be such a cool project! come to think of it I never have even seen an enthusiast 423 motherboard

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
