Yeah I mean with your current score and all, you still have a more then able machine for DX7 to early DX 9 gaming so I wouldn't sweat it. Its a awesome build. And also, anything able to use multicore will benefit too.

Hang on your already building a 1999 machine! how many period PC's you going to build?
Jealous you have a duel processor box, i really want one but nothing I use supports it. (accept the os)

Although i could probably build one for each year from 1995 to 2002, i narrowed to building one for 1996, 1999 and 2002.

1999 is near completion, as i said, i just haven't made my mind on graphic card...
Have almost everything (relevant) that came out that year, except the Geforce 256 DDR. I have the SDR version, the TNT2 Ultra, 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000/3000/3500, Ati Rage Fury Max and Matrox G400MAX. It's a hard decision...

Regarding early years, i still have lots of 386/486 stuff including my Shuttle HOT-433 with AMD 5x86 133 waiting for better days...

1999 era cards? well the TNT2 from diamond, the 770 if i remember correctly was a kickass card, The voodoo 3 was riding high. I think the geforce 256 was in early 2000... definatly worth looking into.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Geforce 256 came out somewhere in Q4'99. It's the ultimate card from the old century and eats V3s for breakfast in DX titles.

True. And i already have 2 x Voodoo 2 12MB in the box...
The thing that drives me crazy are the freaking little fans on the geforce cards. Lots of noise and too much heat.
