Mainly for the reason of having a PC at my girlfriends house, so she can facebook and whatnot and our little girl can have access to a PC at home. I also relish the thought of building this for personal reasons...

I used to own a C2D 6300 - a PC I built on my return to gaming about 2 years ago - from parts bought from a friend. The motherboard that came with the CPU was pants and had no OCing options at all in the bios. So I never got the chance to do what SHOULD be done to every 6300.

So now I can get a brand new ASUS 775 board for less that £35 from ebuyer.com with a full suite of OC tweaks. It also takes DDR3 and I have 2 GIG Kingston 1600 lying around spare. I can get the 6300 from ebay for under £20 and OC it to around 3.4 on good air cooling (thinking of an arctic cooler freezer 7 - but I do like the look of the ASUS royal knight as well).

Pairing all this with a 26" HD TV and maybe my spare 1950XTX and I think it might be extremely fun to benchtest.

And all this for under £100.
