Hi!
This is my new rebuild of the ASUS computer.Right now,the bios is down (no worries,I have replaced the BIOS chip and have a CD-RW for flashing and things).I have two Backup 2MB bios chips (the bios is 256K)
Specs:
Audio:Sound Blaster 16 Value-CT2770
Network:Realtek 8139A
Video Card:S3 Trio 3D/2X 4MB which is going to be replaced someday by a nVidia one
Processor:Intel Inside Pentium 2 at 233MHz (overclocked thanks to the board's 133MHz FSB setting)with MMX instruction
Memory:320MB,PC-133 CL2,PC-133U and PC100
Chipset:VIA VT82C693A (better than a i440LX)
CD-ROM:ASUS CRW-5224
HDD:Seagate (unknown model) 1.7GB
OS:Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional w/SP4
Browser:Mozilla Firefox 12 🤣
Right now,some pics.
Also, the last three images are what the bios would look like, what wallpaper I have right now,and the new wallpaper I'll use.

Well, a P2 233MHz not-overclocked can run 2000 at "full speed" too. 2000 only really demands around 56mb, have more RAM than that and it should work okay. That's an estimate - at 48mb 2000 was unusuably slow.

I've had no big performance problems running Win2000 on 64mb. Windows XP is another story though 😀

also why the mspainted bios shot?

The mspaint is because the bios was not working at that time so i made a preview how it would look.😁

It boots very fine and stable, the secret is to use early 8chip single side 133MHz RAM.An example is Transcend's memory.Pop it in and it recognizes 128MB right out of the box.Samsung:search for a PC133U and 8 chips on both sides (double side)and it recognizes 128MB of course.Even PC100 or PC66 works on it. 😁

I do have Transcend ECC ram rated for PC100 and 3-3-3 timings. In dos and memtest86 it works fine at 133MHz bus and 2-2-2. I'm guessing the 3dfx card doesn't like it as I see some black boxes and lines scattered across the screen when booting into windows.

Actually mine is a small bank of ram and its not ECC.

Finally, repaired the BIOS chip!I have swapped the original SST MPC 29EE020 for a normal Winbond W29C020-90 chip.I reflashed using an ECS K7S5A mobo. It's in my bedroom, hidden next to a huge box full of pieces. (an USB bracket,a S3 Trio backpanel.1TB external HDD and Wii controllers)I have enough pieces to build another PC,since I saved the next pieces:
1.ATI Rage IIC AGP w/o DVD extension
2.SB16 Value sound card
3.Intel network card
4.The mobo itself
5.Pentium 2 233MHz (overclocked by the mobo btw)
6.The 1.7 GB Seagate HD
7.A noisy CPU fan 😀)
