No you do not need a daughter board to play MT-32, you could play MT-32 with the card you have now, most likely.

What you need though is the Joystick port to midi cable.

You don't need any daughterboards to use MT-32. Daughterboards' purpose is to receive MIDI commands and produce sound. You need something that will receive MIDI commands from software and supply them to the MIDI output port, where a MT-32 can catch them and produce sound. The IBM daughterboard is not known to be one of best sounding ones anyway.

Any Sound Blaster card with joystick port would do that, provided you have an adaptor like this:

There is a thing called 'MPU-401 intelligent mode' that could bug you in case you wish to use a SB card to connect to MT-32, but it affects a small number of games and there's a software tool (previously mentioned SoftMPU) to deal with it.

No, you do not need a wavetable daughterboard to use an MT-32. You might use one instead of an external MIDI module.
The IBM S-W1/C MIDI daughterboard is OK, but nothing special. Not really worth the price I think. I have two of these, but mainly for collection purposes.

Is this any good? http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-S-16WP1-ISA-Sound … 321161924494%26

You need an MT-32 to be able to use an MT-32. Wavetable cards with MT-32 emulation aren't going to cut it.
