well , on the one hand that machine is overkill , my last machine was a Phenom II and it was enough to run Max Payne 3 above 60fps , let alone something like Doom 3 or Oblivion.

then again , Im doing the same in regards to XP at the moment, so I can't fault that logic.

What chipset do these Dell P4 motherboards use? Are the PSU connectors standard?

Does anyone have documentation / list of part numbers, versions and board specifications?

I had good experiences with two Acer Tualatin S370 boards. Extremely stable and easy to work with. So OEM boards could be of interest to some.

The Dimension 4500 motherboard uses the Intel i845E chipset. The PSU connectors are standard, but the 3-pin fan header is not. The BIOS are neutered, and, as shamino stated, the CPU temperature can't be read by Coretemp and the like. Otherwise it's a perfectly good board. Very stable in my experience.
