Nice pics! What motherboard and CPU will you be putting in?

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

Your board properly supports a Slot A 1ghz T-Bird right? If I remember AMD only shipped them to OEM's because off the shelf boards where not capable of running them period

I like that cable management, Good work.

Do you own the 1GHz already. I thought the 750MHz was faster due to cache speed.

Also make sure the caps are good on that mobo, I had a MSI K7 that had bad back in the day. I gave it away a long time ago sadly. The cpu was awesome at the time. The Irongate chipset wasn't so much.

My Tbird 1000 works reliably in my gigabyte 7IXE (bypass on or off), and in my gigabyte 7IX (bypass off only, older version of the chipset)
It is impossible to get it to work at standard speed in my K7 pros, I tested the three of them I have, bypass on or off.
It will work in those K7 pros, but only at 950MHz (9.5*100).

As for overclocking, I've tried 1100MHz quickly, without any pb. It should be able to reach 1150 on a 115 FSB which is the max reliable on this 7IXE. The next setting is 120 or more MHz, and no Irongate MB I tested can get more than 119MHz FSB stable.
K7 pros are better for overclocking than 7IXE, since you can go MHz by MHz.

Since K7 pro is the revised version of your MS6167, I think you're out of luck. If you find a way to make it work reliably, please share.
Oh, and you really want a super bypass capable MB too 😀

Super baypass?

It's a capability of the chipset that was disabled in first revisions.
If your chipset supports it, it will be present in the BIOS, under the name "bypass enabled" or something like it.
It gives a large boost in performance (Athlon 700 + bypass will basically be as fast as athlon 800 without)
I will post my bench results this evening to show you the difference.

Nice looking case. I love the look of beige coloured server-class cases. Might want to slow the fans down if they are too loud.
