Yeah they suck. I have the diamond drivers. And advice on we're to find good drivers

That Diamond Viper II is picky about what motherboards it likes. Just such a buggy graphics card.

Indeed. I treys to run a few OpenGL games and they crashed or failed to run at all.

I poped a fx5200 into the system and it was a tone faster. Gave ut99 a try and it maxed out without a problem.
I even gave kotor a try, that game rocks for testing old systems. It works out just about anything with OpenGL support even a voodoo4/5.
The game was a tick slow no matter the video setting high and low gave the same fps. Upping AA, AF and rez did slow the game down abit. I'm betting the game needs a faster cpu. I was getting aroind 15-25fps with the system. It does require a piii1ghz and recommends a 1.6ghz Athlon or p4 so it's no surprise it was slow.

Its not the Card that sucks, thats the Drivers..
i could play all S3 Metal Titles fine but opengl.. direct3d.. 😳 some times even in all three the Machine freezed.
With proper driver, this will go away. (i had Savage 4..)

Sadly this Card has no later Driver Version avaible 🙁

you should better get a generic Savage 4 Card, and you will get better Driver Support.

Wile most drivers do suck for the card, the card itself does have problems too.

Yeah the Savage 2000 chip itself was not adequately debugged when they released it.

Buggy T&L is disabled as far as i know, Unreal, Rune, Unreal Tournament should run fine in s3 metal

It's more then just t&l. OpenGL support is not right, it's there but incomplete. and so is metal on earlier cards. Mine will not run and metel games at all no matter witch drivers are used.
