Restoration of Socket 5 tower. I expect this was a rather expensive system when originally purchased.

Impressive cleaning on the tower itself from orange back to white 🤣

Nice to see some so5 boards getting attention to. The intel mobos usually where rock stable so it should give no problems.
Only thing missing is something like a voodoo1 for some early 3d fun!

Maybe a Rage IIc then?

Or a plain old 3D Rage at the very latest. I just happen to not particularly like the Mach64... but maybe that's just me 😀

Odd request, but do you mind recording the ST32550N starting up and booting up? Thanks

I had a pair of them a while ago but sold them on eBay for a decent amount of money. Always meant to record them but forgot.

I have edited out the email request. There are a lot of sites out there where you can upload stuff. Try mega.nz or something like that.

My AV reports that site you linked as being dangerous.
Don't see why I cant email him the recording, sorry I offered.

oeuvre, looks like I dont have a way to send you a recording, sorry I offered. Did not mean to get your hopes up.

Wait, I see this site hase an attachment option. I'll use it.

Well this sucks. The site will not allow me to upload a recording. I tryed.

There are tons, like https://www.file.io/ or kiwi6, etc. Thanks though

Those sites sure seem sketchy. That file.io states it got its domain from the same place hackers do 😲

I also have a frew with bad motor bearings. If youd like I can record them too. Theyre super loud and clunky sounding.

You could always use Dropbox or Google Drive and PM him the link.

Sure next time I crack it open I could try to record.

No problem next time I open it up I will snap some images.

Formulator, how did you clean the case? It looks like new.

Magic eraser to get the scuffs, and the standard Retr0bright method for the bezel. The plastic seemed brittle so I was conservative with exposure.

The shorter system on the right I will be working on next, have not opened it up yet to see what is inside. I posted the InWin/Intel Marl restoration here a few months back.
