Good Afternoon Everyone,

I love this forum. I have lurked for months and finally have something to share. After digging through a back room of a friend's business, I was able to acquire this NEC Ready 9716 and a few goodies. It currently runs with a disk drive, but I hope to get my CF and/or SD adapter working (for another thread). Anyway, here are some photos and the specs.

• Onboard ATI RAGE II PRO

• Creative CD-ROM
• Mitsumi 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive
• Seagate 4GB Hard Disk Drive
• 200W PSU
• IDE Drive Tray
• DOS 6.22
• Windows 3.1

COMING SOON:

• IDE to CF/SD*
• 5.25" Floppy Disk Drive

* Currently the system hangs during boot if I have the IDE to CF or IDE to SD attached. So many hours troubleshooting Master/Slave, BIOS, and IDE/Floppy devices in use with the CF/IDE. I Will probably seek help in another thread.

I'm really digging that upside down case.

It reminds me of the BTX cases that would come later. Same with the bottom PSU mount.

The place I got this from had a 486, but sadly the battery corroded into the AT keyboard port. All attempts to save it failed. I even found the exact motherboard of it and similar post buried in these and other forums. I salvaged its CPU, memory, case, psu, and ISA cards for later.

Any chance you found updated BIOS for the NEC Ready 9716? BIOS seems to be flaky at recognizing and booting from any large drive, wondering if an update would help.
