Here is how to Easily build a WinNT 3.51 computer.
Really Easy to build and drivers are included in WinNT 3.51

Hardware Specs:
Motherboard - Intel Shuttle Slot-1 or any bare bones Slot-1 motherboard should do.
CPU - Intel 233mhz or greater.
RAM - 128mb.
Graphics - S3 trio 64 , PCI
Audio - Sound Blaster 16 Vibra ISA
Networking - 3com 3c509
Hard-drive - Seagate 160gb 72000rpm IDE ( 4gb partitions )
CDROM 16x
Floppy 1.44
Case - Basic ATX
PSU - 300 watt

This computer was really easy to build and set up.
Drivers are vanilla to WinNT 3.51.
For Audio just add the Sound Blaster compatible driver in Control panel -> drivers.
Networking - select TCP/IP and add 3com 3c509
Graphics - S3 trio is picked up automatically.

Really Easy to setup and Rock Solid, Fast and very stable.
Everything is working.

Do we really need the several-posts-long slew of mostly stock photos (and sometimes images yanked from other sites??) of every single component every time...

As for the build, "EZ", sure, but period accurate it is hardly (not really a problem, though). Audio may be handled by built-in drivers but I doubt a "real" NT 3.x workstation of the period would have even bothered with a sound card.

Posts with Photos get more hits and they are more understandable.
Easy YES, NOT entirely period correct.
Windows NT 3.51 - 1995
Pentium ll - 1997
Sound Blaster 16 - 1992

And YES, WinNT 3.51 came in a CD install disk too so a CDROM was required. So if you have a CDROM drive you most likely have a sound card too.
True Mulimedia kits where very expensive back in 1992-1993 they cost from $200 for a Sound blaster clone and $500 for a good Sound Blaster config.
WinNT 3.51 has built in drivers for Sound Blaster, MIDI, FM synthesis , etc.

Well, apart from the fact that this isn't even possible, as you can't see if there are (or how many) photos inside unless you click and open the thread, it's not an excuse to present one's project using other people's photos. If you are not able to show your own photo of e.g. the graphics card, because you didn't make one, then better don't show it at all and limit yourself to your own photos.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Have a look at how other people here use pictures - they're either illustrating a point or showing off something cool that they own. Seemingly random screenshots or stock pics of hardware does neither of these things.

It's a free internet and you can post what you want, but if you're really interested in 'hits' then again look at what other people post in their build threads - they usually explain why they're doing what they're doing, i.e why the reader should care.

Alright I don't see the need to bash everything about him but I see your points. A lot of this could just be done in 86box or a VM, especially for NT 3.x and emulating common hardware.

Maybe just tone it down a bit with the images and such. But there's no need to rip the guy apart.

The WinNT workstations I worked on as a student helper back in 95/96 had mostly Pentium Pro or Pentium CPUs. All had SCSI adapters with CD ROMs attached.

I am just trying to share my builds and how easy they can be to setup.
I am not trying to make things difficult. Old computers are difficult enough.
If you use the right parts setup and installations can be easy.
Often drivers where a problem with old components.

I noticed he used my photo of a Boxed Turtle Beach Montego II in one of this other threads. Doesn't really bother me, Just screams laziness.

The problem is that since you use other people's pictures, for us there's literally no way to figure out whether you've even build that computer for real, or are just boasting about your fantasies.

For all we know, you could just be reposting other people's solutions to certain problems with pictures you found on the internet...

Yes, I understand that but this is a build with modern parts. Modern case, power supply, hard-drive, ram, floppy, cdrom, etc.
It is just really easy to build and very stable and reliable.
