Cannot Find Monkey Island Original 256-Color VGA with Sound Setup???

The only VGA versions I can find have sound built in??? It sounds kind of like MT-32 but there's no setup exe or menu????? How do I get the original version to run on real DOS with REAL MT-32??????????

Have you checked for command-line options?

There should be a readme.txt or something like it describing the options. I believe "r" after monkey.exe gives you ROLAND MT-32 midi, and "a" gives you adlib/soundblaster music.

I think Lucasfilm games starting with Indy 3 give options when typing the game exe followed by a question mark:

monkey ?

This should show you all possible command line options

i had to add the patch disk to the install directory and run with "r" modifier
bc pirate say "r" 🤣
