There are awesome Zs here!

Yesterday I installed two controller cards, one of them is an USB 3.0 controller with 4 ports and the other is a SATA 3 with two internal ports.

The initial idea was to use all the bandwidth of the 3TB HDD, works fine but my BIOS can't handle more than 2TB for filesystems. Because of this I just buy two 2TB HDD. 😦

If all of this works fine together I don't think that I open the case again. 🙄

Also really enjoy working on these machines... easy to work with and very solid build quality.

So a Z440 is functionally equivalent to a Z840 with a single CPU?

more similar to a Z640 with a single CPU. Z840 is the only one of the 3 with 16 RAM slots and support for 160W Xeons... and it has 8 PCIe slots

I like the HP z220 Small Form Factor for it's size and performance.
Fitted with SSD's it provides good performance.

There is two versions of the HP Z400. Older one with 4 dimm slots only supports up to 4c/8t processor but the newer one with 6 dimm slots supports up to 6c/12t CPU and 48GB of RAM.
Xeon W3680 and W3690 (both are 6c/12t) can be overclocked to 4GHz with ThrottleStop because they have unlocked multiplier. X5680/X5690 have locked multiplier so they can't be overclocked on the Z400.

I have both Z400's but I don't have a Xeon W3680 or W3690 so I haven't tried overclocking one myself. I had my X5670 @ stock on my Z400 before I bought my current Asus P6X58D-E motherboard to overclock it.
