Hi,
additionally to what I wrote before (go to step 1: connect the CD drive as slave on your IDE controller, where master is the harddisk).
Download a windows 98 or windows 98 SE bootdisk.
Normally IDE CD drives always work out of the box with it.
Thanks, man, I feel a little better now.
With Win 98 floppy boot disk, HDD as a master, CDROM as a slave I got it working.
What I am observing now is that this 8x CDROM of Mitsumi is working quite badly. I am heaving troubles reading CD media: some of them can not even read, some of them I must "retry" to get the data down.
OK:
1. How should I proceed toward "working CD in MS-DOS":
a. As slave on I/O card
b. As master on Sound Card IDE
2. Can CD-ROM be cleaned somehow, so it would read CD media better?
Tnx
