How is this?....I edit it in photoshop on my iPad.

I think it needs some more stickers 😉

Yeah, I like the clean look of plain beige myself.

No Cadillac sticker? I'm disappoint total.

Lol, and no Apple stickers either what's with that?

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

How is this ?
For a DOS gaming computer this build runs smooth and quiet like a Cadillac.
In 386, 486 and Pentium speeds.
Game play and audio playback is good too at all speeds.

Could it have a VW logo on the 5,25" drive lever? 😜

Not this one. It does not have any German parts. But I have a 486 computer with a German Contaq chipset motherboard, AMD CPU, and a Terratec sound card. WD harddrive.

And I have an ALL Terratec sound card build too. I really like German stuff. Good quality.

@Intel486dx33
I built a VERY similar PC a short while ago out of bits and pieces I could find for decent prices on Yahoo Auctions. Like you, my goal was to build an affordable system that could run a wide range of DOS games reliably without having to use slowdown tools. It has very similar specs to your machine, but is even more of a "frankenstein monster" as I just got what I could find. I'm glad to read that you're enjoying your PC. After getting over some little bumps along the way, my PC too is running rock solid and plays most anything well (of course, playing Build Engine games at 640x480+ is not fantastic...).

This build is a real Cadillac. A powerful DOS computer.
What are some good demanding DOS games to test with ?

Back when I had a system like this I played Duke Nukem 3D, Darkforces, Mechwarrior 2 (sans 3DFX).

Asus P5N-E Intel Core 2 Duo 3.33ghz. 4GB DDR2 Geforce 470 1GB SB X-Fi Titanium 650W XP SP3
Intel SE440BX P3 450 256MB 80GB SSD Radeon 7200 64mb SB 32pnp 350W 98SE
MSI x570 Gaming Pro Carbon Ryzen 3700x 32GB DDR4 Zotac RTX 3070 8GB WD Black 1TB 850W

If the RTC works, I guess so!

This thread reminds me not to stuff my Compaq Deskpro 133MHz with Windows 98SE but plain DOS and Win3.11 😉

Stuck at 10MHz...

Personally, I would put the hard disk where it is supposed to sit (above the PSU) instead of blocking the second 3.5" bay, do some cable management, put brackets on the unused slots, etc. And add a case badge.

Glad that you're happy with it, but the whole thing seems quite cobbled together to me. Nowhere near an even somehow authentic 1995 build. And the CPU is too weak for the very late DOS games, too. So neither "best possible", nor authentic.

The hard-drive is mounted under both 3.5 front bays so its not blocking anything.

"ultimate game selection. 500 games of non stop fun"

I'm going to predict at least a few moments where the fun stops!

Anyway, it'll be good to fire up the pentium and test these out

I have to say that “If you want a good DOS computer that can run at 386 and 486 speeds and maybe even 286 speeds” this is the CPU you want. Allows you to play old DOS games and modern DOS games in good performance.
Also it’s NOT expensive to build.
If I could only have just one DOS computer this would definitely be on my list.

1st gen. Socket 7 , Pentium MMX.

No. Then you need a K6-III+
That have been proven to be the best platform for fine tuning speed to match 286, 386, 486 and Pentium speed's.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
