Today i got my FX60. So build it in, Multi = 14.0 and vcore from 1.30V -> 1.35V (OC back in the days was really easy ^^). And it work without problems. I also add some stones to the mosfets on the board.
First stress tests show on 100% load it dont get over 48° with a really silent Fan setup. So i think this project is finished, very happy with it.

I also tryed for testing 3,0Ghz but it needs 1.5V .. So the sweetspot looks like 2,8Ghz on 1.35V Multi 14.0 for a good cooled FX-60. Maybe more with FSB OC but i dont like..

I know there many guys cry now, but i dont test my oc 24h 100% load. When i torture the cpu 15min and watch the max temps its ok for me.
CPU passed this without problems, anything about 2,8GHz is running into bluescreen without voltage overdrive. So that how i test out the 24/7 max.

Cool system man. I recently joined the HD3850 AGP Owners' club too. I'm definitely going to install an Arctic Accelero too, cause these cards run waaaay too hot. Anything above 80 celcius is not acceptable for me, and this thing hits 90 after 10 minutes in furmark... Btw, I opted for the intel route for my fast AGP platform: Pentium E5800, Asrock 775i65G R2.03, 2x1GB Kingston DDR-400MHz cl3, Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum, a 32GB SSD for WIndows XP and a WD Raptor 250GB for games. As for the case I like old stuff; a Chieftec Dragon (nothing fancy but I like it).

PC1😜 III-S 1.4GHz, GA-6VTXE, 512MB SDRAM, Albatron FX5900XTV 128MB, SB Live! 5.1
PC2😜 III 800MHz, MS-6178, 256MB SDRAM, 3DFX Voodoo3 2000 PCI, Creative CT4810
PC3😜 MMX 200MHz, SY-5EAS5, 128MB SDRAM, Diamond Monster 3D, Diamond Viper V330, ESS 1868F

Couldn't agree more. I have the same system too, save for the MB revision, sound card and SSD. I should definitely install one on my HD3850 as well ASAP.
EDIT: Just ordered one. Should arrive on Monday.

Did you buy the Mono Plus? The L2 Plus seems adequate enough as it is rated at 120W TDP and this is a 75W card.

Yeah, I generally prefer to keep my hardware as cool as possible, even if it can be a bit excessive. You can never be too careful with these things. Plus, if I ever decide to overclock it (unlikely), it will still be adequately cooled, hopefully improving its lifespan.

I run the HD3850 with base voltage (no bios mod or so) on 710/885 without problems. I think a fair OC 24/7.
Just changed the Fan control to run anytime with 85% that keep the GPU silent under 45° on load.
The FX-60 was a really performance push against the 4600+. Love the CPU.
The HyperX RAMs 4x 1gb DDR400 did a great job on the CPU OC. Still no problems on the FX-60 @ 2,8GHz.
Against the nforce i think really good result on Aida bench, what are your results ?:

I haven't overclocked it yet. In fact, the cooler hasn't even arrived. So much for a courier service...

I think the shipping at the moment is really fucked, i got a express package from japan within 3 workdays to germany , so i dont think there is a corona delay at all, but they let you pay and you wait... Also got from france a package in normal delay 1 week..

I'd try to get the cpu to 3Ghz. I've OCed Opteron 170 to 2.9Ghz with air cooler. At 3Ghz it isn't stable.

About shippings... I'm waiting about three weeks for a package from France... At the moment I can't ship to UK, Australia and Japan at all.

Requests are also possible... /msg kixs

You should reduce amount of RAM to 2 Gb. FX60 can work with 4 Gb only with Command Rate set to 2T, which reduce performance, and also could reduce maximum stable CPU clock.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

i run 2GB before, but need more for gaming, like Tomb Raider Legend or Dark messiah of M&M. The performance with the fx60 is really good, you can get on the fps+40 resolution limit with no slowdowns.
I was testing with 2GB before .. Sure its a small call on the system at all, but we love AGP, i love to see more Fx-60 action that cpu is sick.
Love to see FX-60 benchs in any solution!

None of them need that much.

Yay, the cooler just arrived! Let's get on to it!
EDIT: Well, crap. The thermal adhesive is completely dry, therefore useless
EDIT 2: Oh, come on! The fan doesn't even spin! WTF is going on with this?!
