If not you can get cheap OEM NOS Ps2 mouse off ebay from the likes of Compaq, HP, Dell, and weren't terrible back when they used PS2. The Intellimouse ones are actually pretty good.
Not like you need amazing high dpi gaming mouse. Nothing that runs on a 486 is going to need it.

Yeah, plenty still around.
Then confirm they're both fully working. Get them cleaned and flog one of them. Which will hopefully cover the cost of both. Therfore free 486 👍

i just repaired an ast bravo 4/66 today. At first i thought the battery was soldered on...but then someone told me to pull it out, so i did. the battery has 3 pins that are pushed in pinholes on the motherboard. i ordered a replacement battery that had those pins and pushed it in and secured it with double-sided tape. there was no soldering required.

The acid would eat away at the circuit board. That is why there are so few of them around today.

AST used a proprietary bios and the motherboards where not easy to repair or upgrade. Even the coin batteries are soldered on.
You could not swap out the motherboard for another because it was a proprietary size. Not a standard motherboard.

That’s why there are so few of these computers around today.

ast made good shit

I honestly knew very little about them. I bought them because I thought it was a good price for any 486 machine.

If they both work then I'll move one on and hopefully cover the cost of both.

Hey Marbo did you end up selling one of these? If not, I'd love the opportunity to purchase one if you would like to sell (even non-working) 😀
