Building my own PCs since 1991 - for my retro builds it's "no CF-disks, no Floppy emulators, no modern cases etc.", only the real and authentic stuff whenever possible.

from my testing the kyro2 does better in w2k as far as scores. Seems the w2k driver is better tuned then the 98se one.

Nice, still want a rambus pc in my collection.
Seems crazy to want a build based solely on the ram type but still want one.
Having the Kyro seems like a good excuse to also keep the build around 😀

I hoped to use it for my second Voodoo 5 5500 (AGP 2x) but unfortunately the board only supports AGP 4x.
... so I went for the Kyro II card.
I know that the Kyro II 4500 has some AGP bios bug but it works fine with the Asus P4T board.

Well balanced system. I also like Rambus builds, although for each system at a certain point in time, there's a better (but less exciting) system that can be built with common SDR-SDram or DDR-SDram parts.

I have a 232-pins i850 RDRam system which performs not as good as the i865/i875 systems I have, but the weird RDRam itself is a reason to hold onto the system 😀.
