First Step Voodoo 5500 replaced the Fans and heatsinks with noctua 5v, add ram cooler

I notice that the push option cools better as pull on this pcb. So GPU is ready. For the heatsinks i use arctic silver 2 comp clue.

Although, I myself would not use a Voodoo 5 5500 on SS7, but that's just me. Then again, I generally struggle to find a use for Voodoo 5 5500 😀
I do have a recommendation, since you already tuned your Voodoo card: add two heatsinks on the back of the VSA-100 chips (in those little squares surrounded by capacitors on the back of the card). It will further help with temperatures and possibly prolonging the card's life. However, make sure that you avoid causing a short circuit 😀

Add some heatsinks on the GPUs back, thanks for the tip! Used some cooling tape to prevent a short.

Some more parts arrived:

- Do you know what case will you use ? old? new?
- Are you planning to use a side window panel?
- Are you planning to make a lightning inside the window
- What about coolant colour?

Yes, i decided to use the Phanteks LUXE (https://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Luxe.html) in black. RGBs are also planed for the window side.

And how much did you pay for waterblock? I`m looking for block with this type of mounting for socket A with no results. There is only one in my country - Swiftech MCW5002-A but it looks terrible.

Got the case today so the fun starts! First installed the PSU, the MB and the Radiator. Still waiting for Fans and the water cooling screws.
The pump with water reservoir will find a place under the drive bay tomorrow.

Got the Ultitube D5 100 pump today. Fits perfect! I choose the PWM D5 because i dont have any USB or even software to control the pump.
So i will use a small PWM controller from noctua to adjust the voltage.

Also stocked my CT3980 with 2x 16MB Samsung 60ns RAM , tested on win95 and dos sb diag, works perfect.

Don't you think d5 is overkill for this setup? 😮 There is only one block and one rad. I think dc-lt would be enough.

And think twice if you really want to connect d5 with the fan controller. I did exactly the same once and ended up burning it. But my pump was dcp 2.2 which has a power consumption of 6.5W, and yours pulls 37.
Of course 37W is a maximum power consumption and you will rather reduce your RPM, but just don't make my mistake 😁 Check the maximum power load declared by the manufacturer of the controller and check that the transistor does not overheat too much 😀

The controller has 12V max 3A so 36W, should be ok? Because i dont run max. You used same NA-FC1 controller ?

No No. Dont remember the manufacturer. I remember that the maximum ldeclarated load was 9.5W. The controller was connected to a dcp pump (6.5W) and 2 fans, 1W each, which gave 8.5W. The controller burned up despite the fact that the pump and fans did not draw as much energy, because they were turned to about 7V. I believe that noctua is a reliable company, but to be calm - watch the temperature of the transistor. It'll probably be hot, that's normal. For comparison, mine melted the casing : )

i will see but thanks for the point. Will have a look on it. Overkill i dont know. I will run the K6 3+ 450MHz @ 2.2V 550MHz first. I read he get really hot on 2.2V and i look than how far i can go. Maybe it go above 600+. And as i mentation before the cuplex was the first block and the waterloop is not really perfect like blocks today so i will see. I will get the connectors tomorrow. Was even hard to get G1/8 11-8 .. the rest is G1/4 11-8.

That was the Fan installed on the CPU when i got it. A PAL 6035 with papst fan, Ultra noisy ^^ Anyway fun project for me.

As another advice, you might want to ditch the SD card approach. You'll find that overall it's much slower than a real disk (and it has frequent hiccups/stutters).
If you're looking for ultimate speed, a 128 GB SSD + SATA to IDE adapter is probably the best approach (although, even this one can have issues on certain platforms).
Another fast and pretty quiet storage solution is a late model IDE HDD (250GB) and limit its capacity to 128 GB.

Ok first tests are pretty good. Need to install OS but anything is dry and water flow well 😀
I jumped the k6 III+ 450 to multi x2, 2.2V for 600MHz and let it run some minutes on bios.
Sure this is nothing to say its stable, but temps loock good so far around 30°.
Still need to do some more cable management, but for today im pretty happy with the result.
