I'm retiring this build in favor of more power from a Sandy Bridge system for XP / Windows 10 dual boot. I also built my family a rig from left overs I had laying around (8600k, GTX 1060) that needed a case and PSU. The rest of this will get shelved or sold off. I find that I don't need another Athlon XP system that was only marginally faster than my other one and super CPU limited.

A few weeks ago, I was going through my stash of old parts and came across my favorite old motherboard from ~2004. Since my beard is getting more grey, I can't remember as much about hardware nuances like I used to. Google lead me to Vogons... and all I have to say is this place is awesome. What a great forum for old hardware! Anyways on to my build and the decisions I need help making.
The Albatron KX18D Pro II was a late socket A board that flew under the radar because it wasn't made by one of the major brands. It reviewed really well at the time and I was a big fan of AMD back then so it became the third socket A system I owned. I loved it but once Athlon 64 came out, the 3400+ I upgraded to blew my 2400+ out of the water. The motherboard, CPU and video card were put in the closet and forgotten about until now. I originally ran it on Windows XP with a Thoroughbred 2400+ and a 6800 GT. I believe I used a Promise Fasttrak PCI controller at the time and the onboard "Soundstorm" sound too.
