I cant resist old IBM's, so I bought this lovely 330 Pentium 90, and it came with an IBM Auto 16/4 Token Ring ISA network card.

I have installed windows 95 OSR2. It detects the network card but the windows driver does not work with it.

Also tried a driver I found online but run into same problem.

Anyone knows where can I find the right working driver for this card?

You don't mention which other drivers you tried - was it these? https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … driverid=134767

I did try those and followed the instructions but still no luck. Maybe there is an issue with the card.
I will try later to install it in a win98 machine.

UMM. please tell me you are NOT trying to use a token ring card on ethernet. It is NOT compatible in any sense of the word.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I have a big box of token ring stuff. Stuff that I plan to "get a round to it".

Maybe one day, I'll win a battle against my ADHD brain and learn token ring.

Just a little information aside... on this computer (i have the P75 version) work perfectly the 233Mhz Pentium MMX CPU, you have a superb DOS station...

The driver will not load, because the system is not able to insert to the token ring as long as it is not connected to a MAU like an IBM 8228 or something equivalent.
There are token ring switches availiable as well as token ring boards with 100 MBit, but without an ethernet to tr bridge you will not be able to connect to an ethernet.
Still have to check the setup for my ethernet to tr connection over 155Mbit ATM fiber using the ATM uplinks of a fore ethernet swich and olicom tr switch.

I was not familiar with this token ring card. Nevertheless it does not fit my purpose so I will replace it with a regular network card. I want to use it in my home network to share files using ftp.

Problem is the IBMPC-330/350 series used a few different motherboards. The one in this post is an Intel Advanced/MN Morrison64 with onboard Trio64. I have the same in a IBM-PC330. It says it only supports up to a P120 in the official Intel docs. I have got it working with a P200 by joining the BF1 pin on the CPU to VSS ground (pins are next to each other) with a thin wire.

The IBM version has a blue bod wire attached to the chip enable pin of the bios. If this is the same board you have how did you get a mmx chip working (running it over-voltage)?
There is also a MR-BIOS 3.46 for this board (V097B5NA - it's on vogons drivers https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fil … 810&menustate=0 ), it's much better than the latest IBM bios and supports Hard Disks up to 128GB with bus master MW-DMA2 in DOS.

I have updated the BIOS in mine. It come with a bios dated in 95 and now I believe it has the latest IBM bios dated from 98.

I love those old Desktop IBM computers. This is what I learned computers on IBM AT, IBM PS/2, PS/1 and these Desktop Pentiums.
I have very fond memories of these IBM computers.
They never let us down and were always working.
Very 1980’s and 1990’s

I like how clean than simple they look with the front bay door closed.
What really set IBM apart from all the other computer manufactures was the programs, menus, and tools and batch files they included with
The installation software which made the computer easy to use, administer, maintain and manage.

I would try to find an original recovery disk.

This might work:

I agree with you. And I deeply regret having sold my first computer, An IBM PS/1 486 SX 25. I still keep the original SVGA monitor from it.

Still trying to find one for a reasonable price.

I worked on somebodies IBM system with that style case, but it had dual PPro's with the full 1MB cache (black top). He offered to sell it to me cheap, but I declined (this was 15 years ago).

Nice system.

The dual p-pro ibm machines are hard to find. Ask me how I know.

How do you know? 😉

Oh, and the summoning spell is now just "dual" ...??? 🤣

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

Look for a yellow or white label by the CPU socket with "fru 96g3576" printed on it.
Have you tried the MR-BIOS to enable 128GB Hard drive support.

This might work:
Re: IBM Desktop PC-750 , Pentium-90 Restore.

I would like to get that recovery CD (or Ready-to-Configure CD) too, as the one I've provided is for 486-based 300 Series models. The closest thing we've got is IBM Aptiva Multimedia Exploration CD dated 1995-03-29 here. That's recovery CD for IBM Aptiva 720 (2144-S15) which was based on the same Morrison/64 board as this IBM PC 330 (it has a bit different revision of BIOS).
