Here's the result form my Voodoo5 55oo PCI on my Dual 1GHz PIII system for comparative purposes. (Also slotted into a 66MHz slot, with the machine running XP Professional.)

I think you can easy get 1000 more points when you switch to a P4 System. 3d mark 2000 dont work on xp ? Cant start it.
But im sure the 6000 will get there over 10k. 2001 is really hard for a voodoo, impressive.

I'll give it a go in the dual 2.8GHz Slot 603 XEON, once I have it up and running.

Judging by the result you got, considering the CPU that you're using, I don't expect to see much of an improvement?

EDIT: Sorry, I'll check to see if I have records of the 2001 score I got with my card!

Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the Voodoo5's result, but here's the Quadro2 pro's result on the same machine: (Bothe the Voodoo5 and the Quadro2 Pro lack the shader hardware to complete all the tests!)

On base yes for example i got 4800 points 2001 with 990X base clock 3,3Ghz , on 4,5GHz 200 points more.
So yes but a 5500 perform best with a pentium4 (optimal will be a presscott 2,8GHz on 478 agp, if you have pci even higher..).

I did some more testings with another Asus Board.
This time was the goal Win98SE. I choose the P5K-WS with one PCI-X Slot.
Installed with custom chipset drivers. I works really good! Win98SE with ICH9 !!
Just the IDE bus has some problems, but windows load basic driver.
Atm i have a small CPU on the board but i will switch to a E5800 soon!
But so far very happy! Did a quick 3d mark without problems.

Isn't there decoupling capacitors in the middle under the VSA chips?

That looks absolutely bad ass! I've always liked the noctua colour scheme.

installed 3x noctua NF-A12x25 FLX to provide good airflow for the Voodoo5 6000. Two on front, one on back. Chipset fan, 2Gb DDR2-1066 with E8600@4,5GHz Win98SE

Interesting W98 setup you have there. Is it running good with 2GiB of ram with that "Service Pack"?

Just read up on that unofficial Service Pack. Definitely something I'm gonna play around with on a BX setup with a gig of RAM, playing a little with cacheable range on P2's ..

1-2GB runs great with the patch, i also tryed 2x2gb but thats to much 😀 I would go with 2x512MB but ddr2 1GB was cheaper as finding 2x 512Mb 1066..
