Just finished restoring this 2005ish custom rig I found in a recent large pickup. Most of the computers I restored with intent to resell but this one I did just for me. This would have been like the dream computer for me right around my highschool graduation in 2004. I never would have even dared to think id own a $1000 CPU or SLI cards in those days. Funny how times have changed and people are just throwing this stuff out right now 🤣. Generally I focus on DOS PC's, but this one was fun just for the nostalgia. Many of the parts were in the PC already, but it needed some serious cleanup and cable management. And added a few of my own parts.
Specs:
Giant Chieftech Case with period correct silly fans
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium (Passive cooling thank god)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
Dual 6800 GS Cards in SLI
2GB Of Patriot DDR 333
Dual 7200RPM HD's in a nvraid raid 0 because screw it always wanted too
Creative X-Fi Pro USB
Runs Doom 3 on ultra at 1024x768 just fine. I dont remember much of anything about XP performance so im posting some benchmarks hopefully ya'll can tell me how its doing 🤣.
My house is so full of computers I have no idea where in the hell im going to put the thing, but I must admit my 17 yo self really loves it!
