Fortunately, wcpuid works very well and reports lots of useful information:

I am the author of a system information tool called ASTRA32.
I've added initial support for Intel Timna.

Can you run this beta and send a text report?
The report contains CPUID/MSR dumps and will be very useful for development.

ASTRA32 works on any version of Windows, including Windows 95/98/Me/NT. A DOS version is also available.

Free beta download links:

It's not aways about speed and performance.
This is one awesome build!

Yeah but if there was a Timna shooting for the stars he'd be winning 🤣

Though really on a retro forum all "performance" builds should be tongue in cheek knowing it can have it's butt whipped by something very middling from the following generation.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I ran the portable version under Windows 98 SE and got a BSOD with the following: A fatal exception 0D has occurred at 0028:C14FD7C5 in VXD ASTRA32(01) + 000027C5

Then I tried it under Windows XP SP2. When ASTRA32 tried to read the MSR registers the system immediately rebooted without even showing an error message.

Last I tried the DOS version under Windows 98 SE in DOS mode. The program froze at the Reading MSR Registers step.

Thank you.
This means that some expected MSR registers do not exist in Intel Timna.

Please run this debug version of ASTRA:

ASTRA debug version

In this version, the MSR number being tested is displayed on the screen. What will be the last MSR number?
