It seems the Intel board keeps corrupting my CF card. That's a disappointment. I guess it will just have to be a red motherboard then, until I find a fix. 😒

If you want a solid state drive you can always try a SATA SSD and an IDE->SATA adapter.
Have done so for testing but with no luck. It seems the problem is with the motherboard itself.
MSI KT3 has been a reliable workhorse for w98se / xp in my builds. It's a decent board, just remember to sync fsb:ram 1:1 333mhz for best performance.
