Transparent WinXP SP1 build with CCFL lights in style of year 2003 running DirectX 7-8 titles. Targeted games: 1999 – 2003.

I want to enjoy NVIDIA SoundStorm Dolby audio in my headphones but I also want to avoid onboard Realtek codec analog circuitry as well as bulky external audio hardware. Terratec SiXPack 5.1+ (CS4297A) acts as a software DAC: it receives digital signal via TOS-Link looped back from the motherboard and outputs it to 3.5 headphones. This works automatically on startup and there is no playback latency.

Very very cool build!

Are the fans still available to buy anywhere? I tried to get a blue cold cathode for a build recently but I was sad to find they basically don't exist anymore, all replaced by LED (which to be fair is much easier, safer, and cheaper anyway).

Yes. It clears between video card and CPU cooler thanks to heatpipes L-shape.
