The OpenGLid.INI file used to live in the Windows folder, so all games would invoke the same one. Hence you needed the config tool to set it up each time you swapped game.

Now mulitple OpenGLid.ini files live in the game folders, so each copy can be set up correctly for the game it is intended for. Hence less need for a config editor.

The way I'd like to see it go, is to have game specific sections in the OpenGLid.ini file. A dll can tell which program is using it, so OpenGLide can pick the right configuration for the game that is using it. With that scheme we could put the ini file back in the Windows folder, because the one copy would apply to all games. Then it would make sense to bring back the config editor, for people who want to experiment and add new games.

I'll be trying to make a feature list of what the next version should have. 😉

I'll post it here when I'm done.

In the meantime, people post the features they'd like to see in the config program here.

One request: don't let it rely on the registry. I like the INI-file setup. 😀

More resolutions? Currently limited to 1600X1200. Those of use with GF4/Radeon 97000's want our 2048X1536's! 😁
