The game *must* support MT-32. You must choose in games's setup.

And if you use the MT32 version of dosbox you dont need the mt32 emulator coz it has the mt32 support included in it. If you use the MT32 emulator you use the normal dosbox version and just choose it to output the sound so that the emu plays it.

Don't use the Driver version of the emulator, it is very out of date. Use the Dosbox version.
I could never get the driver to work anyway; same problem as you, no sound 🙁

See, I downloaded Dosbox with MT32... I start DOSBOX and mount the drive.

Then I run the game's setup (Kyrandia) and make sure MT32 is the sound selected.

Then I run the game. No sound.

There wasn't anything to configure at all, it just worked. It's possible that your ROM file is corrupt, can you check if it works on someone elses computer? Canadacow listed the MD5 checksum for the correct ROM file, it may be worth comparing yours with that. Good luck!

The other files I don't seem to need from the DBMT32.zip and the Mt32out*.raw are made by DOSBox.

Yes. it's newer.

Newer *built on one of the later CVS versions* and fixes some problems with MT-32. :p.

God darn it, that worked! Actually, half worked.

Space Quest 3 works aok. But Kyrandia 1 and Wing Commander 1 don't give me any sound.

Any reason why this would work on one and not others ?

check whether mt-32 works (do you hear anything) if you play these games in a normal dosbox (v0.61 for example, without mt32 patch)

It works if I configure the game for soundblaster, I hear sound then. Just not the gorgeous MT-32 sound.
