Hello.

I installed Munt, following instructions. However, no matter how I change the config file or which version of DOSBox I use, the sound is always exactly the same. How do I get MT-32 midi?

I've tried:
mpu401=intelligent, uart, none
device=win32, default, coreaudio, mt32
mt32rate=22050
config=0 (the id of Munt)

The one that's supposed to work, from what I've read:

mpu401=intelligent
device=default
mt32rate=22050
config=0

I also tried deleting some of these lines; I've tried it in gulikoza's latest build, ykhwong's latest build, DOSBox-0.65 regular and an older ykhwong build. I tried using gulikoza's build's native MT-32 emulation. No matter what I do, the same midi comes out.

System info:
MSI Diamond mobo
2GB Corsair RAM
2 BFG GeForce 7800GTX OCs
P4 3.2GHz CPU
Windows XP SP2
On-board SoundBlaster 5.1 Live!

Thanks.

Are you sure that game supports MT-32? Maybe it only uses FM synthesis (OPL2/3 chip) which is emulated in dosbox. Put sbtype=none, oplmode=auto and even disable GUS to be sure.

Also you can try to play a midi file in a media player and see it there are differences with munt versus other MIDI driver.

The game supports MT-32; it's Sam & Max.

Tried playing a midi file; munt was able to play part of it, and it sounded different.

Thanks! Closer to knowing now.
