G'day all

I'm not sure if it's a problem with the older MT-32s but when I play certain MIDI files on my old style no headphone jack MT-32, some notes are missing, where on my CM-32L it sounds fine. I have attached a MIDI file which it plays up on, the Police Quest 3 ending them from Quest Studios website.

I am using both modules connected up by individual USB to MIDI leads to my Windows 8 machine btw.

With the help of Mau1wurf1977, it turns out my MT-32 isn't faulty after all, it's just that Police Quest 3 doesn't sound quite right on old MT-32s (not sure about newer MT-32s or MT-100s but with the CM-32L it sounds just fine).

Upon further research, it looks like Dilandau3000 on Youtube has the same issue in his Let's Play video and he also uses an old style MT-32: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LzE2yQhy9o

Thanks for all the help! Case closed!

it looks like typical problem of dropping notes by old mt-32 that cannot handle complicated songs written for later modules.
But if you mute one track or reduce tempo to 20 it plays fine 😉
