I was able to get a Roland MT-100 without PSU for a few bucks - but in unknown condition.
At home, I connected the MT-100 to a PSB-230 PSU, which I got as spare. Seems to work, as the MT-100 just powered up fine.

Playing the demo songs works, as I can hear them via L/R or headphone, so I guess, the MT-100 should work.
For a test, I hooked up the MT-100 via Roland's UM-ONE adapter (In->Out, Out->In) to my PC.

DOSBox's config was modified to midiconfig=1, as mixer /listmidi shows:

0     "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth"
1 "3- UM-ONE"

After starting several games with MT-32 support, I can clearly see, that the "Out"-LED is flashing on the UM-ONE, but the MT-100 remains silent with no audio output at all. Did I missed something?

Sounds about right.

Are you sure you connected the cables properly? The important one is connecting the OUT from the USB interface to the IN on the MT-100. Don't bother with the other one unless you plan to create music yourself.

Are you sure the USB interface is functional?

The plugs on the Roland USB MIDI adapter are labelled and you really need to read what's written on them 😀
