hi i want to try a cvs build that i downloaded from Daum cafe. i have read the thread: Dosbox cvs builds. saying unpack the cvs build on top of the latest official release of dosbox. For me thats a little bit fuzzy, shall i find a dosbox folder somwhere on my ubuntu system and replace the files in that folder with the files of the cvs build? cause i cant find a dosbox dir anywhere just a linux executable called dosbox in usr/bin

some might think that this is a stupid "noob" post,i have just read a thread about ignorant users and stupid postings by Great hierophant. And he seems to be quite annoyed over people asking really basic qustions and "surprised" over that others ask about basic commands.Well maybe he haven`t thought about that alot of people like myself for example weren`t probably even born when he and the other "dosbox gods" were sitting at home and playing games on dos and learning the basics. So if you have never been in contact with dos and classic oldies games before then i think its pretty normal to ask about the basics. And if it sucks so much that there are people here that are really new to dosbox then maybe he should put up a suggestion for a knowledge test before anyone can become a memeber of the vogons. That way it would never be ANY qustions about this basic crap right! And maybe those who failed the knowledge test could have a forum on their own so the others with their extenive knowledge of dos didn`t have to bother with them.

I have quite recently discovered old dos/windows games and i think they kick the shit out of many of the new games that hit the market today. And i have noticed that dosbox is a great tool for playing most of those games. And dont get me wrong im really trying to learn on my own playing with commands and settings and googeling stuff.but sometimes you just need some help even if it is really basic just to bad you have to get shit for it.

Why do you need a cvs build?

Use the 0.72 release (which you already have i guess), choose some s3
drivers during installation, if they aren't available check out
Windows 3.1x DOSBox Guide
for some info where to get different s3 drivers for win3x.
