DOSBOX closes automaticly

Hi
I have dowbloaded the DOSBOX program and tried to run it in my Win XP pro

But i cant make it run... when the DOS window opens it shuts down immediately and the only msg that appears in the DOs window is something about copyright and else.

I already closed my anti virus and i am not running any firewall (except for the windows one). I also tried reinstaling it and no results.

The strange thing is that when i installed it i had this problem... for reasons that i don´t know it started running normally, but few days back and it is not working anymore and i have the exact same problem as the beginning

Do anyone knows how to solve it?

Do you see 1 or 2 windows? One named "DOSBox Status Window" and one named "DOSBox 0.72, Cpu Cycles: 3000, Frameskip 0, Program: DOSBOX" ?

Any messages in the Status Window?

try opening dosbox.conf (shortcut is in the startmenu)
look for output=surface
change that to output=overlay
