I posted this on Yahoo! Answers and they referred me to this forum. Here goes.
All right. So. I want to install the 1993 DOS game Museum Madness on my new Windows Vista. So I installed Dos Box, read a tutorial on how to set it all up, and everything was hunky-dory until I got to saving the changes I made to the "dosbox.config" file (you know, where you go to change it from the Z drive to the C drive).
I saw on another forum that it may be because I'm not an administrator. I'm an administrator on my computer, and I tried running the application as an administrator as well. Neither worked. I keep getting the same message ("Cannot create the C:\ProgramFiles\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf file".) I keep trying to save it and it just won't let me. Then I tried changing the name. THAT didn't work either. It said that I don't have "permission" to change the file's name because I'm not an administrator (C:\ProgramFiles\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox2.conf. txt You don't have permissionto save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?) I just wanna play my game! Anyone have a clue as to what I could be doing wrong? I'm really stumped here guys.
Thanks!!
Kickin it old school since 1999.
