Hello folks,

I would really appreaciate if someone could guide me, is their some kind of cmd line, i h' all the 3 DISK of MS-DOS 6.22 but dont know how, i h' installed it on Virtual Box , but i m considering switshing to DOS-BOS simply because it consums a lot less memory than Virtual Box...

i know a lot of people h' already installed MS-DOS 6.22 , can u please offer some suggestions....

Hello folks,
thanks for redirecting, although i followed mirekluza exact same method made 10MB with Disk Image Creation Tool, and kept all the there DISK 1,DISK 2,and DISK 3. And kept in a d:\dosbox\ and followed this cmd line.
mount d: d:\dosbox
imgmount c d:\c.img -size 512,63,16,20 -fs fat
boot -l c

STEPS MENTIONED BY mirekluza Do you want to create a floppy disk image or a hard disk image?
Please type hd or fd. [hd] hd

Enter the hard disk size in megabytes, between 1 and 32255
[10]

I will create a hard disk image with
cyl=20
heads=16
sectors per track=63
total sectors=20160
total size=9.84 megabytes

What should I name the image?
[c.img]

Writing: [] Done.

I wrote 10321920 bytes to (null).

The following line should appear in your bochsrc:
ata0-master: type=disk, path="c.img", cylinders=20, heads=16, spt=63

2. I put the HD image (c.img) together with an image of a bootable floppy (msd60.ima) into the directory d:\dosbox on my disc.

3. Then I went on with creating of a patition on the disc. I started DOSBOX with the following lines:

mount d: d:\dosbox
imgmount 2 d:\c.img -size 512,63,16,20 -fs none
boot d:\msd60.ima

Check the screen shots, how do i boot the DISK 1 from DOSBOX.
Any direction,,,someone who has already installed MS-DOS 6.22.
I would really make a picture TUT regarding Installing MS-DOS 6.22 in DOS-BOX. Hell their are not enough TUT or talks for this, some direction would be great. I cant help myself, since i m not a programmer,,,
But i really want to h' MS-DOS 6.22 is DOSBOX, its something every Windows users must h' since its built around/above DOS,,,and not having MS-DOS any version is at least a must h' for me.

😢

Well its asking for second disk:

mount d: d:\dosbox
imgmount 2 d:\dosbox\c.img -size 512,63,16,20 -fs none
boot d:\dosbox\disk1~1.ima

First disk booted ,and asks for second disk, entering wont work, so i had to press Ctl+Alt+Del then gave boot d:\dosbox\disk1~2.ima
Its says non-system disks ,press any key to continue...how do i beat that.

maybe use file names without tildes
boot works on local files. so you need full names

The cmd was working ie., BOOT [diskimg1.img diskimg2.img .. diskimgN.img] no need for -l d as described frm the manual:

Maybe it was a blind fluek or just i was lucky, i pressed Ctl + F4 and Alt + F4 and also Shift + F4 randomely and furiously and it then began to install.
May be its a DOSBOX buggy.

However i could not boot to the img file. As described in the TUT ie.,
mount d: d:\dosbox
imgmount c d:\c.img -size 512,63,16,20 -fs fat
boot -l c

But i can' tload the MS-DOS it say: missing Operating System:
Now whats with this: How do i load MS-DOS already installed.

As i said this is the first time i m installing ms-dos on dosbox. i m so close yet so far, any suggestion please.

if you enter c: (without booting) and look around do you see dos folder and system files outside?
