Wolf3d runs fine with DOSbox 0.72, but not with later versions. With versions 0.73 and 0.74, when the player chooses an episode and tries to run it, the player is repeatedly asked if he or she wants to quit. We are using a Toshiba Laptop, L455-S5009, with a dual 64-bit Pentium processor and Windows 7 (64-bit).

Works okay for me. Choose episode, choose difficulty, shoot guards.

Works fine for me in 0.74 as well...
But if it runs fine for you in 0.72, why not use that for that game?

Works perfectly fine for me, as do expansion packs as well as SoD.

try setting joystick to none in dosbox.conf, perhaps a crappy laptop peripheral is mistaken as a joystick.

Just ran it successfully on three different machines, including a Core 2 laptop running 64-bit Windows (from Apple, not Toshiba).

So I think the emerging pattern here might be that it's your set up or game copy and not Dosbox itself =).

Perhaps my problem's related to my system. Anyway, I'll be sticking with Version 0.72 until I get this all figured out.

Thanks to all of you for the replies.
