I have dosbox working ok on windows xp. using the program to do
small assembly programing (just learning) have discs for dos 5 and
want to use debug but it will not run in dosbox so need help.
I have an older assembler A86 / d86 and they are working ok.

According to Debug in dosbox , it is just a matter of using the "ver" command.

Maybe you should give more details about what you mean when you say "it will not run".

My first post did not contain all the information so I will include some
more. Dosbox ver 7.4 and I am trying to run debug ver 5.00 in it but
when I call up debug I should get the debug prompt _ but all I get
is II LEGAL COMMAND: DEBUG.

Did you mount the directory where DEBUG.EXE is located?
