Hello!
First I want to say, that I am from Germany and that my English is very bad. I hope you can understand it.

I have a problem with Dosbox on my System:
AMD Athlon XP2000+
512 PC2100 Cl2 Kingston
MSI K7N2 Delta-L Nforce2 SPP
Sapphire Radeon 9600 pro 128 MB
Windows XP + Sp1 + all important Updates
no programms are working in the background, when I'm running Dosbox

The problem ist that the game I want to Play, called "Formel 1 Manager 96" (but I think it is Dosbox in General) works very slowly. He is reading from the HDD every second and the loading-time in the game is very long. For Exampe, in my old 486 DX 66 Mhz it was able to load the screen in 1 second, with Doxbox it needs almost 10 seconds and the game is nearly unplayable slow. Are there some special options in Dosbox like for the Ressource-Management, which can solve the problem?

ok, first, it's a CD Rom game or a disk game ?

If it's a CD Rom game, try to make it in "image" with Nero and use a virtual CD Rom driver like : Daemon Tools (free soft) after that, it's will imporve the time access ...

Now, if the game in directly on DD, just try to increase the CPU Cycle with :
CRTL+F11 -> Reduce
CTRL+F15 -> Increase

You can use : Frame Skip too :

CRTL+F7 -> Reduce
CTRL+F8 -> Increase

Tell me if it's better ?

Ahhh Thank you! Now it is running nearly normal!!!! Thaaaannnnls!
But it is strange that he is reading from harddisk every second, is that normal? (It is a CD-Game).
