I have a few old Gravis-supporting games, but I never actually had a Gravis, and would like to tell the difference. The ability of my SBLive should surpass the old Gravis, but it doesn't seem to play, and the .conf file says I need to have patchs in some patch directory. So what do I put in there? Is it like a sound font? Where can I get it?

Timidiy use same patches... maybe getting a timidity-patches from any Linux distro may help...

You can also download the GUS drivers from www.gravis.com. Get the six floppies and install into DOSBox (they detect your GUS), and the installer will decompress the original patches.

I tried to install those things ages ago with 0.61 and it never worked (didn't detect the hardware).

GUS detection was fixed in CVS (tested with GUS drivers 4.10). It will be ok in DOSBOX 0.62.
