I need to run a DOS program in DosBox that needs to find a drive Z:\ to check for up-to-date files before it will run. Usually we run a “subst” to make a drive Z:\ from drive C:\
Is there a way I can make the DosBox virtual drive something other that Z:\ so that I can mount C:\ as Z:\ , or is there a way I can mount/subst C:\ as Z:\ even though Z:\ is already the default drive of DosBox.

As far as I know: No (unless you fancy recompiling DOSBox to use say Q instead of Z).

Anyone?

It would be nice if DOSBox did handle that a bit differently... Some ideas:
- Make the virtual utilities show up as ghost entries on C:\ (or C:\DOSBOX or whatever) even if you have something else already mounted there. In other words, you'd see both the contents of whatever you've mounted to C:\ and the DOSBox virtual utils.
- Have a config option that lets you choose which drive to use as the DOSBox utility drive.
