Well, I installed DOSBox on my Laptop running Windows XP home Edition and it runs just fine, but I just installed it on my other computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition and I have encountered a problem....

The installation went smoothly, and it runs and everything, but when I tried to mount C:\DOSPROG (the directory where all my DOS stuff is) to drive C, I discovered that when I try to type the \ (backslash) it instead comes out as ].

Does anyone know why this happens? Could my USB keyboard be causing it? Perhaps DOSBox doesn't understand USB keyboards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May the Force be with you!

DOSBox uses UK/US keyboard layout by default only. If you have a different keyboard layout some keys will produce funny characters.

Could you try a CVS build and see if it behaves any different? If not,
set usescancodes=true in dosbox.conf (CVS builds only).

Please report back if the one or the other way works for you.
