Hi,

I'm running Windows 3.1 in DOSBox 0.65 on my Mac. I have to say DOSBox is an amazing program, as it allows me to run my old DOS games (wow), as well as my favorite old 16-bit MIDI sequencer app, which I can't run on my Mac any other way. (Keep up the cross-platform good work!)

My question is this: Will there ever be a build for OS X that runs Win 3.1 at higher than VGA mode? I am using the universal binary from

http://mac.punknews.org/dosbox

I've read that some Windows builds of DOSBox can run Win 3.1 at 800 x 600. I would try to compile an SVGA Mac version myself, but I just don't have the smarts for that. Taking the approaches I've seen in the forum, I've tried to get my DOSBox Win 3.1 to run at SVGA, but with no luck.

This is no complaint--DOSBox on the Mac is great. I'm just wondering if anyone is working on a Mac version that supports higher resolution.

The CVS already has support for high colors and resolutions. I think the max res tho is 1024x768.

Here's a newer port for OSX:

I think the fixes for Windows 3.x were not implemented into CVS until later (The above was compiled back in November).

So yeah whenever those OSX sites compile the latest version then you should be set....or if you compile yourself.
