I have been using DOSBox for a while and everything was fine until...

I use a Dvorak keyboard layout, so I had to use the keymapper so DosBox would understand it. Every few months, or when I haven't used DOSBox in a while, it seems to have "forgotten" the key mapping and I have to do it all over again.

The last time this ahppened the problem got even worse. Now I can't get the keymapper to start at all. I hit ctrl-f1 and DOSBox freezes up. Nothing on my system has change from when it worked before. I'm using a Dell Dimension 300. I have also removed, and re-installed DOSBox. That didn't help.
