Hey, I downloaded the installer and used it and the .exe file doesn't show up anywhere in the hard drive. Did a search, nothing. Got an older version, nothing. Why would it do that? Anybody help?

The short cut was there but the actual file wasn’t.
hmm you did install to a location where you were allowed to install ?
Some operating systems don't allow you to install in every directory unless you are the system administrator.

Did you download the "Win32 installer" version?
I am a system admin and it was the win32 installer version
Everything else downloaded except the .exe file.
I looked at the installer queue, the green words in the black box that says everything it put on the hard drive. It said it installed the .exe, but it's nowhere to be found. Am I seriously the only person this has happened to?
You could always just swipe the dosbox.exe from a recent CVS build (see the link in my sig). It's got years' worth of fixes and added features since 0.63 was released.
there is no need to try a cvs version
The next version eventually will use exactly the same installer. So it better work.
