After Terminal Velocity and Wacky Wheels failed to run acceptably properly (the intro movies stuttered, gameplay was worse), I tried to simply up the emulated cpu speed with the hotkeys. The "CPU cycles" in the windowbar updated to reflect the change, but it didn't seem to increase emulation speed or real cpu usage (which stayed between 55 and 65% on my Powerbook 1.5GHz). It didn't seem to work with a custom config file, either (which I loaded through the Terminal and by selecting the actual executable rather than the .app, etc). Moreover, the keyboard detection became unreliable and it became difficult to do things like move through menus. Any ideas?

it only works when you run a game. (better: you will only notice a difference)
not when you have z:\ showing

I'm talking about in-game. In-game menus, starting sequences, etc. I've no idea what's going wrong, either. 😒
