Found a CVS build today: http://bjimba.blogspot.com/2006/02/dosbox-for-gp2x.html

Man, wish I had a GP2x so I could see what kind of performance it's getting.

From the posts people are complaining about AITD1 and CK4.

I'm wondering if they are just not using cycles/Dynamic core or if DosBox is hitting it's limit on the hardware.

Think I'll email the guy.....

The dynamic core only applies to x86 based machines, which the GP2X definitely is not. Honestly with just a 200MHz ARM9 for it to use, I'd expect crappy performance. No matter what you did.

Doh. Forgot about it not being x86. Sigh. Wishfull thinking I suppose.....

I'm thinking those tons of BASIC/BOOTER/8086 programs should run alright tho.....and would work well with a handheld interface for the most part.

Some really old and simple games probably would work, though it'd be a bit painful having to remap the controls for each game. A really snazzy front end could help with that though.

Well if people are complaining about commander keen 4 then it's clear it's not too powerful. IIRC keen worked fine on a 286. It runs fine for me at just 3k cycles.

(First, and not useful, post in a long time 😀)
